Don’t get me wrong - the gravity of the accident is immense. But 43 years is a very long time to spend in jail for an accident without any malice or intent. A very, very long time. Plus, it doesn’t seem like he was a bad citizen prior to the accident.
They should sentence him to community service for the rest of his life. That would be more productive.
